CiM2 also comes with some absolutely great new features such as being able to set timetables for your routes, creating realistic "zones" for your transit and monthly passes that you can paint on the city grid. The graphics are great when the city goes from mid afternoon to sunset to all the lights coming on. Your cities now feature a 24 hour cycle with rush hour, day and night etc. CiM2 also comes with a number of new and really cool features.
Graphically, it is far superior and provided you have a very good computer, the cities will look beautiful. You can click on my profile to see that I have a TON of games but it's the only game I've ever bothered to get 100% achievements with.ĬiM 2 is actually quite different from CiM1. It takes about an hour to learn the game, but it's worth it. An 8 person bus just sounds like a minivan to me! Anyway, I absolutely love CiM1 and it's one of my favorite games of all time. Without the double capacity, some buses can only hold 8 people, metro trains hold only 40 people etc. This may sound like cheating, but I find it makes the game far more realistic. If you get CiM1, I recommend playing with the "double capacity" mod, which doubles the capacity of vehicles. Petersburg Russia, Tokyo, Paris, NYC & San Francisco, and Germany has Munich (free dlc) 2 other cities (sorry I haven't played that one yet) as well as Ulm. The game has been out for a while, it's very stable (no crashes), and there's also TONs of DLC for the game.īeyond Cim1's original campaign which is more than worth the money, there's also many cities and new vehicles for DLC. There's a good mix of scenarios from the 1920s all the way to the 2000s where cities want to be more environmentally friendly. are no longer connected and you have to rebuild. All of a sudden, the city's metros, buses etc. There are unique historical scenarios such as coping with Berlin after the Berlin wall has been built.
The vehicles change based on the era and the music is fantastic. You play 15 scenarios in just the core game and it is interesting because you play various historical scenarios from 1930 to 2010+. The core campaign plays 4 european cities- Amsterdam, Vienna, Berlin, and Helsinki. Both great games and both worth your money, but quite different.ĬiM 1 has a lot of charm and style. There's huge differences in the games, which seems kind of strange for a sequel.
